You Can Choose the Types of Adoption You Want
When you decide to place your baby for adoption, you’ll be able to choose from three types of adoption. Each option is unique, just like every adoption story! We will support you in whatever you choose. Here are the three types of adoption we help with.
Open Adoptions
Open adoptions have many benefits because it allows you to make the decisions every step of the way. Firstly, in an open adoption, the birth mother and the adoptive parents can get to know each other if the birth mother wants to. With this option, you can choose your baby’s adoptive parents and build a relationship with them during your pregnancy. After your baby is born, you have the opportunity to receive pictures and letters from the adoptive family throughout your child’s life as well as visit your child if you wish.
Semi-Open Adoptions
Semi-open adoptions are similar to open adoptions. You’ll have the option to choose your baby’s adoptive family and communicate with them prior to delivery. After delivery, you can receive pictures and letter updates. However, you won’t be able to visit your child in person as they grow up, nor can you have direct contact with the family.
Closed Adoptions
With closed adoptions, birth mothers have minimal to no interaction with their baby’s adoptive parents. Your Adoption Specialist will choose your baby’s birth parents and coordinate the adoption. You won’t receive any updates about your child throughout their life. However, as the birth mother, you get to choose just how closed you want the process to be.
Our Support Services
We offer many support services to help you feel confident in your decision and empowered to take on your future. Here are just some of the services we provide birth mothers:
Emotional Support
Your adoption specialist is there to give you emotional support during this difficult time in your life. Their purpose is to be your rock, giving you advice when you want it, being someone you feel comfortable talking to, and someone who will be there with you every step of the way. If you choose to meet the adoptive parents, she will be right by your side. When you are at the hospital ready to give birth, she’ll be there too.
Along the way, your adoption specialist, along with the rest of our team at Texas Adoption Center, will provide you with adoption-related counseling, education, and referrals, so you get the help you need.
Financial Support
Texas Adoption Center can take a look at your financial situation to see if there are areas where they can help you out. We might help you pay for groceries, utilities, phone, laundry, personal care, or other.
Housing and Transportation
If you live in an unsafe place, we can help you find a safe, stable living arrangement. Ultimately, we want you to feel safe and secure as your baby grows.
Additionally, if you don’t have a means of transportation, we can help you get to your doctor’s appointments and get to other pregnancy-related errands. This might include giving you rides or providing you with bus passes or transportation money.
Medical Care and Health Insurance
You deserve the best medical care! If you don’t have a doctor, we can help you find one! If you don’t have health insurance, we can work on getting you covered. When you work with us, all of your pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum medical costs will be covered.
